Bring in last year's palm branches

Every year on Palm Sunday, we have a procession with palm branches to remember when Jesus came to the city of Jerusalem to die on the cross. Christian tradition is to take those palm branches home and put them behind a cross or religious picture in your home. Some people have taken the palm branches and tied them into crosses.

After having them in their home for a year, each year on Transfiguration Sunday, everyone brings those palm branches back to church so that we can burn them for Ash Wednesday. Last year's palms will become this year's ashes.

So bring in last year's palms on Sunday, February 26 and remember to join us for Ash Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00 pm for dinner and 6:45 pm for devotion.

There will be a basket for the palms in the gathering space at church.
