Here at Faith, we were overjoyed to host our Wisconsin Lutheran College's Concert Choir for a Spring Concert on March 7th. 69 young men and women, all current full-time college students, came to share a sacred and secular concert for the Atlanta area.
Here's a selection of some of the songs the choir sang in languages ranging from Hebrew, Latin, and English:
Knut Nystedt’s I Will Greatly Rejoice!
William Byrd’s Agnus Dei
Edvard Grieg’s Our Father
Z. Randall Stroope’s Lamentations of Jeremiah
J. Aaron McDermid’s Te Lucis Ante Terminum
Greg Knauf's Gloria
Here's a few comments overheard after the choir's performance:
"They sounded like a choir of angels!"
"They were so interesting - I couldn't wait to hear their next song."
"When can they come back?"
We truly enjoyed the opportunity to hear this choir, and the choir enjoyed spending some time with us. Please check out their blog entry at their website http://blogs.wlc.edu/choir/2010/03/08/spring-is-in-the-air/ to see how the choir appreciated their visit to our church.
If you happened to miss the concert, please check our website http://www.georgiafaith.com/webcast to find an complete recording of the concert.
