The confirmation class Evangelism Practicum

The confirmation class spent last Wednesday night sharing their faith in a very unique way. As part of their confirmation finals, Vicar Schleis organized an evening event involving the students, parents and Council of Ministry. Each of the students paired up with someone else's parent and practiced airplane evangelism.

The parents all were given magazines with the "part" they were to play inside. Each parent acted as someone who didn't know Christ, and the students then had the chance to share their faith with them during an airplane flight. While Vicar Schleis went around and played flight attendant, the students all made small talk with their seatmates and then moved the conversation to spiritual discussion. Their goal was to share the plan of salvation between take off and landing.

It was a great experience to walk around church and hear all these young people so clearly sharing their faith in Christ with people. Stick men, and + HOLY and - SIN were drawn, questions were answered, objections fielded. The confirmation kids did a fantastic job, and both the parents and the Council of Ministry were very impressed.

What a great example for each of us to share our faith with the people we meet in airplanes, in school, or at work!
