Faith Teens clean up a local highway

garbage

Ever wonder what people throw out their car window? This past Saturday, our Teen Group found out. We’ve adopted a local stretch of highway, near the intersection of 34 and Fischer road, to keep clean throughout the year.

Undaunted by sweltering Georgia heat, 10 volunteers donned gloves and reflective vests to pick up tires, cans, cigarette butts, and much more. Why? Did they just come for the Waffle House afterwards? One teen summed it up well, “I just want to help out and get dirty in the process.”

20+ garbage bags later, a mile stretch of a local highway is much cleaner. More importantly, some teens got the opportunity to serve their Lord through service to the community. The many honks and waves we received were well appreciated. Ultimately though, our witness to the community sounded much louder to passers-by.

Thanks to everyone for all their help!
